Leptospirosis is a serious bacterial disease found primarily in the tropics where the incidence peaks in rainy seasons. Spread by the urine and feces of vermin, it starts with flu-like symptoms and can progress to nervous system, kidney or liver pathology resulting in death in 5%-40% of cases.
Sufficient vaccine doses require one year of production, refrigeration and needles to apply. Homeoprophylactic interventions can be produced in a short amount of time (two weeks) with no need for refrigeration and can be administered orally.
Drs. Gustavo Bracho and Concepcion Campa Huergo of Cuba’s Findlay Institute conducted the first ever large-scale homeoprophylaxis (HP) intervention for leptospirosis in two provinces of Cuba in 2007 and 2008.
2.3 million people were administered doses each year. The cost of the homeoprophylaxis intervention was only $200,000 Cuban peso (CP) as compared to the $3 million CP annual vaccination cost for the leptospirosis program already in place. This is a stunning economical savings compared to conventional vaccination.
The annual incidence was reduced by 84% in the treated region, resulting in a total of only 2-3 cases in 2008! Incidence actually rose in the non-intervention region by 21%, to 150 cases.
The case of Leptospirosis in Cuba is discussed further in, The Solution. Additionally, you will find other Homeoprophylaxis programs throughout history that have been equally as effective.
With that said, we leave you with a quote from our book:
“The introduction of homeopathy forced the old school doctor to stir around and learn something of a rational nature about his business. You may honestly feel grateful that homeopathy survived the attempts of all the allopaths to destroy it.” – Mark Twain, Haper’s Bazaar, 1890
